1963 (Aug 4) – Beatles in Blackpool
08/04/2025 @ All Day – The Beatles appeared at the Queen’s Theatre in Blackpool. So many fans crowded around the theatre, blocking every entrance, that The Beatles had to go through a construction area, up and across some scaffolding to the roof of the theatre, from where they were lowered through a trap door.

1946 (Aug 4) – Maureen Starkey Born
08/04/2025 @ All Day – Maureen Starkey is born Maureen Cox in Liverpool. She met Ringo at The Cavern Club and they married in 165. They divorced in 1975. She died in 1994 at the age of 48 due to complications from leukemia. Paul’s song ‘Little Willow’ from the ‘Flaming Pie’ album was written in her memory.

08/05/2025 @ All Day – George Harrison had his new Moog synthesizer brought into the studio for The Beatles to use in finishing their forthcoming album Abbey Road. Moog overdubs were recorded onto the new song ‘Because’.
