2013 (Sep 23) - Paul Shuts down Hollywood Blvd. With Performance

Hollywood Boulevard in Hollywood, California was shut down for a 15-song set by Paul McCartney on the roof of the El Capitan Theatre. An estimated crowd of 10,000 listened from the street. The show followed his appearance on TV’s Jimmy Kimmel Live show.

1941 (Sep 24) - Linda McCartney Born

Linda McCartney, (Linda Eastman). Wife of Paul McCartney. Photographer, animal rights campaigner, launched her own brand of vegetarian food. Played keyboards with Wings and solo McCartney records. 1971 Paul and Linda McCartney UK No.1 album ‘Ram’. She died of breast cancer on 17th April 1998.

1966 (Feb 18) - Brian Wilson Finishes 'Good Vibrations'

Beach Boy Brian Wilson finished recording the future classic song ‘Good Vibrations’, which went on to become the band’s third US number-one hit. As a child, his mother told him that dogs could pick up “vibrations” from people, so that the dog would bark at “bad vibrations” Wilson turned this into the general idea for the song.

1967 (Sep 24) - 'Magical Mystery Tour' Filming Continues

Filming continued for The Beatles ‘Magical Mystery Tour’ at West Malling Air Station, Maidstone, Kent with the shooting of the ‘Your Mother Should Know’ ballroom finale. With The Beatles all dressed in white suits and shoes, gliding down a glittery staircase as 160 members of Peggy Spencer’s dance team swirled round about. Paul McCartney stokes the rumors that he is dead by wearing a black carnation while the other guys wear red.

1968 - 'White Album' is #1 in the US

It was the group’s 12th US #1 album. The double album has no graphics or text.

1968 (Jan 20) - 'Judy In Disguise' is #1. Inspired by 'Lucy In The Sky'?

One Hit Wonders John Fred and the Playboy Band started a two week run at No.1 on the US singles chart with ‘Judy In Disguise, (With Glasses)’. It topped at No.3 in the UK. The song was allegedly inspired by The Beatles ‘Lucy In The Sky’.

1980 (Sep 24) - John Lennon Gives One of His Last Interviews

The mixing of the forthcoming John Lennon and Yoko Ono album Double Fantasy moved from the Hit Factory in New York City to Record Plant East. During this session, John Lennon gave one of last ever interviews to Lisa Robinson from 97-FM in Buffalo.

2008 (Feb 20) - Beatles' Autographed Rolling Stones Album Auctioned

A 1976 Rolling Stones album bought for £2 at a car boot sale sold for £4,000 at an auction. The ‘Black and Blue’ LP was signed by John Lennon, Yoko Ono, Paul and Linda McCartney and George Harrison as well as members of the Rolling Stones. The seller obtained the album after haggling the cost down from £3.

1964 (Sep 25) - Brian Turns Down Offer For The Beatles

Beatles manager Brian Epstein is offered three and one-half million pounds for the group’s contract. Epstein declines.
