1962 (Jun 6) - First Beatles Recordings at What Will Become 'Abbey Road'

The first Beatles recording session took place at EMI studios. The group recorded four tracks, one of which was ‘Love Me Do’ the four musicians received payments for the session of £7.10 ($12.07) each.

1964 (Feb 19) - Beatles' Wigs Come to America!

A British company shipped ½ ton of Beatle wigs to the US. An American reporter later asked John Lennon, “How do you feel about teenagers imitating you with Beatle wigs?” John replied “They’re not imitating us because we don’t wear Beatle wigs.”

1965 (Feb 19) - Beatles Record 'You're Gonna Lose That Girl'

Working at Abbey Road studios in London, The Beatles recorded a new John Lennon song ‘You’re Gonna Lose That Girl’ in two takes. The track was released on the Help! album.

1966 (Feb 18) - Brian Wilson Finishes 'Good Vibrations'

Beach Boy Brian Wilson finished recording the future classic song ‘Good Vibrations’, which went on to become the band’s third US number-one hit. As a child, his mother told him that dogs could pick up “vibrations” from people, so that the dog would bark at “bad vibrations” Wilson turned this into the general idea for the song.

1967 (Feb 19) - John and Ringo See Chuck Berry and Del Shannon

1968 (Feb 19) - Paul and Ringo Fly to India

Paul, Jane, Ringo and Maureen join the others in India. They are all staying at the Maharishi’s ashram.

1968 (Jan 20) - 'Judy In Disguise' is #1. Inspired by 'Lucy In The Sky'?

One Hit Wonders John Fred and the Playboy Band started a two week run at No.1 on the US singles chart with ‘Judy In Disguise, (With Glasses)’. It topped at No.3 in the UK. The song was allegedly inspired by The Beatles ‘Lucy In The Sky’.

1971 (Feb 19) - Paul's Lawsuit Against The Beatles Begins

In London’s Royal Courts of Justice, Paul McCartney’s lawsuit against his fellow ex Beatles begins. McCartney’s suit seeks to remove Allen Klein as manager of the group’s financial affairs.

1981 (Feb 19) - George Loses 'My Sweet Lord' Plagiarism Suit

ABKCO Music, owner of the publishing rights to the Chiffons hit “He’s So Fine”, is awarded $587,000 from George Harrison. George had been found guilty of subconsciously plagiarizing the song in ‘My Sweet Lord’.
