George Harrison had a five-hour meeting with John, Paul and Ringo. He had stormed away from the band days earlier. During the meeting he made it clear that he was fully prepared to quit The Beatles for good. Harrison wasn’t happy with plans for live performances and the current ‘Let It Be’ film project. Upon his initial departure, John Lennon had brought up the possibility of Eric Clapton joining the band in his place.
