1962 (Oct 5) – ‘Love Me Do’ Released in Britain

The Beatles debut single ‘Love Me Do’ was released in the UK. It spent 26 week’s on the chart peaking at No.17. Beatles producer George Martin has said when ‘Love Me Do’ was released, it was the day the world changed. It is also believed that the first time a Beatles record is played on the radio, it is by Radio Luxembourg. RL was owned by EMI.
