Paul and John perform as ‘The Nerk Twins’ at the Fox and Hounds pub in Reading, England. The pub is owned by McCartney’s cousin and her husband. They also perform the next day. These are the only known instances where the pair performed as a duo.

The first Beatles recording session took place at EMI studios. The group recorded four tracks, one of which was ‘Love Me Do’ the four musicians received payments for the session of £7.10 ($12.07) each.

The recordings are legit, as Hodgson’s father had loaned the recorder to Paul McCartney. McCartney buys the reel and uses some of it on the Anthology collection. Songs include ‘Hello Little Girl’ and the Ray Charles cover ‘Hallelujah, I Love Her So.”
