2008 (Feb 15) - Former Beatles' Flat Goes Up For Auction

A flat once rented by The Beatles in London went up for sale for £1.75m. The band shared the three-bedroom top floor property in Green Street, Mayfair in the autumn of 1963. A publicity photo of the Fab Four peering over a banister, used as the cover for the December 1963 edition of The Beatles Book, was taken at the top of the property’s communal stairwell.

2008 (Feb 20) - Beatles' Autographed Rolling Stones Album Auctioned

A 1976 Rolling Stones album bought for £2 at a car boot sale sold for £4,000 at an auction. The ‘Black and Blue’ LP was signed by John Lennon, Yoko Ono, Paul and Linda McCartney and George Harrison as well as members of the Rolling Stones. The seller obtained the album after haggling the cost down from £3.

1964 (Feb 16) -The Beatles Second Live 'Ed Sullivan' Appearance

The Beatles made their second live appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show, exactly one week after the first. Before an audience of 3,500 at the Deauville Hotel in Miami Beach, Florida, The Beatles performed ‘She Loves You’, ‘This Boy’, ‘All My Loving’, ‘I Saw Her Standing There’, ‘From Me to You’, and ‘I Want to Hold Your Hand’. Their appearance on the Sullivan show garners 70 million viewers nationwide.

1965 (Feb 16) - 'Help!' Soundtrack Recording Begins

The Beatles begin recording the soundtrack for Help!’. The recording sessions will last for five days. On this date, they record ‘I Need You’, ‘Another Girl’ and ‘Yes It Is’.

1966 (Feb 18) - Brian Wilson Finishes 'Good Vibrations'

Beach Boy Brian Wilson finished recording the future classic song ‘Good Vibrations’, which went on to become the band’s third US number-one hit. As a child, his mother told him that dogs could pick up “vibrations” from people, so that the dog would bark at “bad vibrations” Wilson turned this into the general idea for the song.

1966 (Feb 17) - Brian Wilson Begins Recording 'Good Vibrations'

Brian Wilson is in studio beginning the recording of ‘Good Vibrations’ and the album ‘Pet Sounds’. The Beatles on many occasions mentioned the influence this album had pushing themselves to higher musical plateaus.

1967 (Feb 17) - 'Being For The Benefit of Mr Kite' Recording Begins

The Beatles started recording a new John Lennon song ‘Being For The Benefit Of Mr Kite’. at Abbey Road studios, London. John’s lyrics for the song came almost entirely from an antique poster advertising a circus performance scheduled to take place in Rochdale, Lancashire, in February 1843. John had purchased the poster in Sevenoaks on January 31 while The Beatles were on location for the filming of the ‘Strawberry Fields Forever’ promotional film.
