Ringo Starr became the 2,401st person to be added to the Hollywood Walk Of Fame during a ceremony that marked the 50th anniversary of the attraction. The Beatles as a group were given a star in 1998.
The Beatles turn over operations of their fan club and American business affairs to their Apple Corps comopany in London.
After a conert at the Washington Coliseum (their first US concert), the Beatles attend a cocktail party at the British Embassy in Washington, DC. While at the event, a woman cuts off a lock of Ringo’s hair without asking him.
Ringo marries Maureen Cox at Caxton Hall in London. He holds a press conference in the band’s solicitors garden the following day.
