1966 (Feb 18) - Brian Wilson Finishes 'Good Vibrations'

Beach Boy Brian Wilson finished recording the future classic song ‘Good Vibrations’, which went on to become the band’s third US number-one hit. As a child, his mother told him that dogs could pick up “vibrations” from people, so that the dog would bark at “bad vibrations” Wilson turned this into the general idea for the song.

The Beatles sign a new record deal with EMI negotiated by Brian.

1970 (Jan 27) - John Lennon Writes, Records and Mixes 'Instant Karma' in One Day


John Lennon wrote, recorded and mixed his new single ‘Instant Karma!’ on this day.   It ranks as one of the fastest-released songs in pop music history,  recorded at London’s Abbey Road Studios and arriving in stores only ten days later.

2008 (Feb 20) - Beatles' Autographed Rolling Stones Album Auctioned

A 1976 Rolling Stones album bought for £2 at a car boot sale sold for £4,000 at an auction. The ‘Black and Blue’ LP was signed by John Lennon, Yoko Ono, Paul and Linda McCartney and George Harrison as well as members of the Rolling Stones. The seller obtained the album after haggling the cost down from £3.

1969 (Jan 28) - Beatles Record 'Get Back' and 'Don't Let Me Down'

1969 (Jan 28) - John and Yoko Meet With Allen Klein

John and Yoko meet with Allen Klein and agree that Klein should be John’s personal advisor. Klein has been managing the affairs of the Rolling Stones.

1994 (Jan 28) - Paul and Linda attend Wayne's World II London Premiere

Paul and Linda McCartney attended the premiere of Wayne’s World II in London. The couple then went on to Hard Rock Cafe, where the film star Mike Myers presented them with a cheque for LIPA (the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts) for £25,000 ($42,500) from the sale of Linda’s vegetarian burgers.
