2008 (Feb 20) - Beatles' Autographed Rolling Stones Album Auctioned

A 1976 Rolling Stones album bought for £2 at a car boot sale sold for £4,000 at an auction. The ‘Black and Blue’ LP was signed by John Lennon, Yoko Ono, Paul and Linda McCartney and George Harrison as well as members of the Rolling Stones. The seller obtained the album after haggling the cost down from £3.

1961 (Sep 21) - Beatles At The Cavern Club

The Beatles played a lunchtime show at The Cavern Club in Liverpool. In the evening they appeared at Litherland Town Hall in Liverpool with Gerry & the Pacemakers, and Rory Storm & the Hurricanes, admission price was 3 shillings (15 pence).

1962 (Jun 6) - First Beatles Recordings at What Will Become 'Abbey Road'

The first Beatles recording session took place at EMI studios. The group recorded four tracks, one of which was ‘Love Me Do’ the four musicians received payments for the session of £7.10 ($12.07) each.

1964 (Sep 21) - Beatles Back to London

The Beatles fly back into Heathrow. Arriving at 9:30 PM, they are met by thousands of fans.

1966 (Feb 18) - Brian Wilson Finishes 'Good Vibrations'

Beach Boy Brian Wilson finished recording the future classic song ‘Good Vibrations’, which went on to become the band’s third US number-one hit. As a child, his mother told him that dogs could pick up “vibrations” from people, so that the dog would bark at “bad vibrations” Wilson turned this into the general idea for the song.

1968 (Sep 21) - Madame Tussaud's Updates The Beatles

Madame Tussaud’s Waxworks in London gave The Beatles their fifth image change of clothes and hair in four years.

1998 (Sep 21) - Paul Releases Second Album With Martin Glover 'The Fireman'

The Fireman, Paul McCartney’s trance music duo with producer Martin Glover, release their second album, Rushes. Says Glover: “Linda [Paul’s wife] was very ill, and by the time we’d finished it she was dying, and for me it became very much a requiem for her.”

2011 (Sep 21) - Beatles 'Non Segregated Concert' Contract Auctioned

A contract revealing that The Beatles refused to perform in front of a segregated audience at the Cow Palace in Daly City, California on August 31st, 1965, sold for $23,033 at an auction in Los Angeles. In addition to the desegregation clause, the contract guaranteed the band $40,000 and at least 150 police officers to provide security at the show.
