2009 (Mar 2) - Liverpool University Launches Beatles Masters Degree |
Liverpool University launched a Masters degree on The Beatles, popular music and society. Liverpool Hope University claimed the course, which looked at the studio sound and compositions of The Beatles, was the first of its kind in the UK. Mary-Lu Zahalan-Kennedy, a professor of popular music in Ontario, Canada was the first to receive the degree.

2013 (Mar 2) - Paul Childhood Pencil Doodles Fetch Big Bucks |
A pencil doodle by Paul McCartney when he was a teenager sold for over $5,000. The sketches were drawn by McCartney during the late 1950s while a student at the Liverpool Institute High School For Boys. The drawings showed multiple faces with different expressions on a single sheet of paper in pencil. The auction house said the drawing sold for £3,764 ($5,692).

The first Beatles recording session took place at EMI studios. The group recorded four tracks, one of which was ‘Love Me Do’ the four musicians received payments for the session of £7.10 ($12.07) each.
