1967 (Nov 26) - 'Hello Goodbye' Promo Video Airs on Ed Sullivan

The promotional film of The Beatles ‘Hello, Goodbye’ was aired on The Ed Sullivan show in the US. It was never shown at the time in the UK due to a musician’s union ban on miming.

1969 (Nov 26) - John Works on a Beatles Song For The Last Time

John Lennon works on a Beatles song for the last time when he mixes “You Know My Name (Look Up The Number)” at Abbey Road Studios. The song is used as the B-side of their “Let It Be” single.

1980 (Nov 26) - 'Rockshow' Debuts in the US

The movie Rockshow, a documentary of Paul McCartney’s 1976 “Wings Over America” tour, premieres in New York.

2000 (Nov 26) - 'The Beatles 1' #1 in the US

The Beatles went to No.1 on the US album chart with ‘Beatles 1.’ The album features virtually every number-one single released from 1962 to 1970. Issued on the 30th anniversary of the band’s break-up, it was their first compilation available on one CD. The world’s best-selling album of the 21st century, 1 has sold over 31 million copies.

2008 (Feb 20) - Beatles' Autographed Rolling Stones Album Auctioned

A 1976 Rolling Stones album bought for £2 at a car boot sale sold for £4,000 at an auction. The ‘Black and Blue’ LP was signed by John Lennon, Yoko Ono, Paul and Linda McCartney and George Harrison as well as members of the Rolling Stones. The seller obtained the album after haggling the cost down from £3.

1962 (Jun 6) - First Beatles Recordings at What Will Become 'Abbey Road'

The first Beatles recording session took place at EMI studios. The group recorded four tracks, one of which was ‘Love Me Do’ the four musicians received payments for the session of £7.10 ($12.07) each.

1966 (Feb 18) - Brian Wilson Finishes 'Good Vibrations'

Beach Boy Brian Wilson finished recording the future classic song ‘Good Vibrations’, which went on to become the band’s third US number-one hit. As a child, his mother told him that dogs could pick up “vibrations” from people, so that the dog would bark at “bad vibrations” Wilson turned this into the general idea for the song.
