1966 (Aug 5) - Revolver Released in US

The Beatles ‘Revolver’ was released in the UK. The bands seventh album featured: ‘Taxman’, ‘Eleanor Rigby’, ‘I’m Only Sleeping’, ‘Here, There and Everywhere’, ‘She Said She Said’, ‘And Your Bird Can Sing’ and ‘Tomorrow Never Knows’.

1966 (Aug 5) - UK Single Release of 'Yellow Submarine/Elearnor Rigby'

‘Yellow Submarine/Eleanor Rigby’ released in the UK by Parlophone.

1966 (Feb 18) - Brian Wilson Finishes 'Good Vibrations'

Beach Boy Brian Wilson finished recording the future classic song ‘Good Vibrations’, which went on to become the band’s third US number-one hit. As a child, his mother told him that dogs could pick up “vibrations” from people, so that the dog would bark at “bad vibrations” Wilson turned this into the general idea for the song.

1969 (Aug 5) - Beatles In The Studio

The Beatles record “Because” and “The End.”

1969 (Aug 5) - George Gets a Moog

George Harrison had his new Moog synthesizer brought into the studio for The Beatles to use in finishing their forthcoming album Abbey Road. Moog overdubs were recorded onto the new song ‘Because’.

2007 (Aug 5) - Beatles Music Advertises Diapers

Proctor and Gamble, maker of Luvs brand diapers, upsets Beatles fans around the world with their licensing of the song “All You Need Is Love” for a new television ad.

2008 (Feb 20) - Beatles' Autographed Rolling Stones Album Auctioned

A 1976 Rolling Stones album bought for £2 at a car boot sale sold for £4,000 at an auction. The ‘Black and Blue’ LP was signed by John Lennon, Yoko Ono, Paul and Linda McCartney and George Harrison as well as members of the Rolling Stones. The seller obtained the album after haggling the cost down from £3.

1962 (Jun 6) - First Beatles Recordings at What Will Become 'Abbey Road'

The first Beatles recording session took place at EMI studios. The group recorded four tracks, one of which was ‘Love Me Do’ the four musicians received payments for the session of £7.10 ($12.07) each.

1963 (Aug 6) - Beatles Arrive in Channel Islands

The Beatles arrived in Jersey in the Channel Islands, where they spent the day go-carting and relaxing by the pool at The Revere Hotel before playing the first of four nights at the Springfield Ballroom. Some fans had found out where they were staying, but they were happy to chat and be photographed with them.

1965 (Aug 6) - Beatles Release Help!

The Beatles released their fifth album and soundtrack to their second film Help! which included the title track, ‘The Night Before’, ‘You’ve Got to Hide Your Love Away’, ‘You’re Going to Lose That Girl’, ‘Ticket to Ride’ and ‘Yesterday’.
