1976 (Jun 10) - Wings Performs Before 67,000+ Indoors

Wings set a new world record when they performed in front of 67,100 fans in Seattle, the largest attendance for an indoor crowd.

Paul McCartney and Wings set a new indoor concert attendance record of 67,100 at the newly-opened Kingdome in Seattle.

2008 (Feb 20) - Beatles' Autographed Rolling Stones Album Auctioned

A 1976 Rolling Stones album bought for £2 at a car boot sale sold for £4,000 at an auction. The ‘Black and Blue’ LP was signed by John Lennon, Yoko Ono, Paul and Linda McCartney and George Harrison as well as members of the Rolling Stones. The seller obtained the album after haggling the cost down from £3.

1960 (Jun 11) - Tommy Moore Quits The Beatles

Drummer Tommy Moore made the fateful decision to quit The Beatles and return to his job of driving a forklift at Garston bottle works. He was briefly replaced by Norman Chapman, who was called into National Service after just three gigs. After going drummerless and mostly jobless for a few weeks, the band hired Pete Best on August 12th, only one day before they were to go to Hamburg to play a string of club dates.

1962 (Jun 11) - Beatles Record 'Here We Go' For BBC Radio

The Beatles recorded a BBC radio program, “Here We Go”, at the Playhouse Theatre in Manchester, in front of a studio audience composed largely of loyal Cavern fans. This was the last recording on which Pete Best played drums.

1962 (Jun 6) - First Beatles Recordings at What Will Become 'Abbey Road'

The first Beatles recording session took place at EMI studios. The group recorded four tracks, one of which was ‘Love Me Do’ the four musicians received payments for the session of £7.10 ($12.07) each.

1965 (Jun 11) - MBE Recipients Return Awards in Protest

Some MBE (Members of the British Empire) recipients return their awards in protest when it is announced that The Beatles will be honored with the award. The group is generally mystified, but their older relatives seem thrilled, so they accept the awards at a ceremony in Buckingham Palace.

1965 (Jun 11) - Paul & Jane Return From Holiday

Paul and Jane return from holiday. Brian wants them in the country when the announcement is made about the Beatles receiving MBE’s.

1966 (Feb 18) - Brian Wilson Finishes 'Good Vibrations'

Beach Boy Brian Wilson finished recording the future classic song ‘Good Vibrations’, which went on to become the band’s third US number-one hit. As a child, his mother told him that dogs could pick up “vibrations” from people, so that the dog would bark at “bad vibrations” Wilson turned this into the general idea for the song.

1969 (Jun 11) - 'The Ballad of John and Yoko' #1 in the UK

The Beatles were at No.1 on the UK singles chart with ‘The Ballad Of John and Yoko’ the group’s 17th UK No.1. The only two Beatles that played on the track were John Lennon and Paul McCartney.
