1978 (Jul 15) - George Appears With Dylan Before 200,000

Bob Dylan with special guest Eric Clapton, Joan Armatrading and Graham Parker all appeared at Blackbushe Aerodrome, Surrey, England. Reputedly this was the biggest ever UK audience for Bob Dylan, with over 200,000 fans attending.

2002 (Jul 15) - 'Sir Paul' Highest Earning Musician of the Year

Sir Paul McCartney was named the highest-earning music star of the year so far after selling tickets worth £33.9m during his recent US tour.

2009 (Jul 15) - Paul Returns to Ed Sullivan Theater After 45 Years

45 years after he played at the Ed Sullivan Theater with The Beatles, Paul McCartney returns to the venue to appear on The Late Show With David Letterman. Earlier in the day, McCartney plays a few songs from the theater’s marquee, surprising the onlookers in Manhattan.

The first Beatles recording session took place at EMI studios. The group recorded four tracks, one of which was ‘Love Me Do’ the four musicians received payments for the session of £7.10 ($12.07) each.

1969 (Jul 16) - Work Continues on George Compositions

During recordings for their Abbey Road album, The Beatles worked on two new George Harrison songs, ‘Here Comes The Sun’ and ‘Something.’ Harrison was inspired to write ‘Here Comes The Sun’ when taking a day off from Apple business and spending the day walking around the garden at Eric Clapton’s house.

1967 (Jul 17) - 'All You Need Is Love' Released in US

The Beatles single ‘All You Need Is Love / Baby You’re A Rich Man’ (originally called ‘One Of The Beautiful People’) was released in the US. It became The Beatles 14th US No.1.

1968 (Jul 17) - 'Yellow Submarine' Animated Movie Debuts

The animated film Yellow Submarine, premiered at The London Pavilion. The Beatles made a cameo appearance in the film but didn’t supply their own voices for the characters.

1971 (Jul 17) - John & Yoko Appear on Parkinson

John Lennon and Yoko Ono appeared on the BBC late night talk show, Parkinson, where John chastised the British media for calling Yoko “ugly” and for saying that she broke up The Beatles.
