1944 (Jan 7) - Michael McCartney (Mike McGear) Born

The brother of Paul McCartney was also an entertainer. His group, ‘The Scaffold’, had the 1968 Christmas UK Number 1 single ‘Lily The Pink’.

1962 (Jun 6) - First Beatles Recordings at What Will Become 'Abbey Road'

The first Beatles recording session took place at EMI studios. The group recorded four tracks, one of which was ‘Love Me Do’ the four musicians received payments for the session of £7.10 ($12.07) each.

1964 (Jan 7) - Beatles Record for BBC's 'Saturday Club'

The Beatles recorded a seven-song appearance for the BBC Radio program Saturday Club. They played ‘All My Loving’, ‘Money’, ‘The Hippy Hippy Shake’, ‘I Want to Hold Your Hand’, ‘Roll Over Beethoven’, ‘Johnny B. Goode’, and ‘I Wanna Be Your Man’. The show was broadcast on February 15, while the Beatles were in the US.

1966 (Feb 18) - Brian Wilson Finishes 'Good Vibrations'

Beach Boy Brian Wilson finished recording the future classic song ‘Good Vibrations’, which went on to become the band’s third US number-one hit. As a child, his mother told him that dogs could pick up “vibrations” from people, so that the dog would bark at “bad vibrations” Wilson turned this into the general idea for the song.

1968 (Jan 20) - 'Judy In Disguise' is #1. Inspired by 'Lucy In The Sky'?

One Hit Wonders John Fred and the Playboy Band started a two week run at No.1 on the US singles chart with ‘Judy In Disguise, (With Glasses)’. It topped at No.3 in the UK. The song was allegedly inspired by The Beatles ‘Lucy In The Sky’.

2003 (Jan 7) - The Beatles Book Monthly Ceases Publication

The Beatles Book Monthly closed down after 40 years. Author Sean O’Mahony who set up the magazine in 1963 said there was nothing more to say as the number of things the former Beatles were doing gets less and less as the years go on. The magazine had previously shut down in 1969 but had been revived in 1976.

2008 (Feb 20) - Beatles' Autographed Rolling Stones Album Auctioned

A 1976 Rolling Stones album bought for £2 at a car boot sale sold for £4,000 at an auction. The ‘Black and Blue’ LP was signed by John Lennon, Yoko Ono, Paul and Linda McCartney and George Harrison as well as members of the Rolling Stones. The seller obtained the album after haggling the cost down from £3.

2008 (Jan 7) - Ringo Starr releases 'Liverpool 8' as Single

Liverpool 8 is a single from the 15th studio album by Ringo Starr, released worldwide on 14 January 2008. The album is also called Liverpool 8.

1935 (Jan 8) - Beatle Influencer Elvis Presley Born

Elvis Aaron Presley, the King of rock ‘n’ roll. He had his first No.1 in 1956 with the US No.1 & UK No.2 single ‘Heartbreak Hotel’. His first UK No.1 single was in 1957, with ‘All Shook Up’. Presley went on to have over 100 US & UK Top 40 singles from 1956 – 2006. Presley is one of the most celebrated and influential musicians of the 20th century, with estimated record sales of around 600 million units worldwide. Elvis Presley died on August 16th 1977.
Elvis met the Beatles in August of 1965. No actual (non Photoshop) photos exist of their meeting.
