2008 (Feb 20) - Beatles' Autographed Rolling Stones Album Auctioned

A 1976 Rolling Stones album bought for £2 at a car boot sale sold for £4,000 at an auction. The ‘Black and Blue’ LP was signed by John Lennon, Yoko Ono, Paul and Linda McCartney and George Harrison as well as members of the Rolling Stones. The seller obtained the album after haggling the cost down from £3.

1962 (Jun 6) - First Beatles Recordings at What Will Become 'Abbey Road'

The first Beatles recording session took place at EMI studios. The group recorded four tracks, one of which was ‘Love Me Do’ the four musicians received payments for the session of £7.10 ($12.07) each.

1965 (Nov 25) - Beatles Do Their Christmas Shopping

Harrods department store in London, England, closed to the public so The Beatles could do their Christmas shopping in private.

1966 (Nov 25) - Beatles Record 4th Christmas Album

The Beatles record The Beatles’ Fourth Christmas Album.

1969 (Nov 25) - John Returns His MBE

John Lennon returned his MBE to The Queen on the grounds of the UK’s involvement in the Nigeria Biafra war, America in Vietnam, and against his latest single ‘Cold Turkey’ slipping down the charts.

1984 (Nov 25) - Paul Records on 'Do They Know It's Christmas'

In London, Bono, George Michael, David Bowie, Jody Watley, Paul McCartney and a passel of other stars record vocals for “Do They Know It’s Christmas?,” the first big all-star charity single. Released a week later (in time for Christmas), it becomes a holiday favorite and raises over $14 million for famine relief in Africa.

1988 (Nov 25) - Ringo Out of Rehab

Having successfully completed their stint in an Arizona rehab clinic for alcoholism, Ringo Starr and his second wife, actress Barbara Bach, return to England.

2013 (Nov 25) - 'Mayor of Strawberry Fields' Passes Away

Gary dos Santos, known as the “Mayor of Strawberry Fields,” dies at age 49 after a battle with leukemia. Dos Santos ruled over the Strawberry Fields section of Central Park, dedicated to the memory of John Lennon. He helped keep order and decorum in the area, arranged flowers at the memorial, and greeted tourists who came by.
