1966 (Nov 10) - No More Touring For The Beatles

British newspapers break the news that The Beatles will indeed refuse all future offers to tour.

1973 (Nov 10) - John Meets With Phil Spector

John Lennon meets with legendary producer Phil Spector in New York to begin work on an album of oldies covers entitled Rock ‘n’ Roll.

2008 (Feb 20) - Beatles' Autographed Rolling Stones Album Auctioned

A 1976 Rolling Stones album bought for £2 at a car boot sale sold for £4,000 at an auction. The ‘Black and Blue’ LP was signed by John Lennon, Yoko Ono, Paul and Linda McCartney and George Harrison as well as members of the Rolling Stones. The seller obtained the album after haggling the cost down from £3.

1962 (Jun 6) - First Beatles Recordings at What Will Become 'Abbey Road'

The first Beatles recording session took place at EMI studios. The group recorded four tracks, one of which was ‘Love Me Do’ the four musicians received payments for the session of £7.10 ($12.07) each.

1963 (Nov 11) - Beatles Disguised as Policemen

After a gig in Birmingham, England, The Beatles find themselves attempting to escape a throng of fanatically devoted fans for the first time, escaping through the crowd by dressing up as policemen.

1965 (Nov 11) - Final 'Rubber Soul' Recording Session

The final recording session for The Beatles Rubber Soul album took place, at Abbey Road, London. They needed three new songs to finish the album so an old song ‘Wait’ was pulled off the shelf and the group recorded two new songs from start to finish. Paul’s ‘You Won’t See Me’ and John’s ‘Girl’, the basic tracks for both songs being completed in two takes. Rubber Soul was completed, and finished copies of the album were in the shops by December 3 in the UK and December 6 in the US.

1968 (Nov 11) - 'Two Virgins' Released

John Lennon and Yoko Ono release the album Unfinished Music No.1: Two Virgins with a cover photo of the pair naked. Many record stores stock it in a brown paper wrapper.

1977 (Nov 11) - 'Mull of Kintyre' Released

Wings release “Mull Of Kintyre.”

1931 (Nov 12) - Abbey Road Studios Opens For Business

Abbey Road Studios opens for business at 3 Abbey Road, St. John’s Wood, London. The Beatles do most of their recording there and name their 1969 album Abbey Road, with a famous photo of the band traversing the crosswalk outside the studio.
