1963 (Nov 16) - Major Television Networks Film the Band

Before the band’s show at Bournemouth’s Winter Garden, CBS interviews the band. CBS, NBC and ABC all record part of the show for later broadcast.

1964 (Nov 16) - Concert at the Opera House in Blackpool

Beatles perform at the Opera House in Blackpool.

1965 (Nov 16) - George Martin Finishes 'Rubber Soul' Running Order

George Martin puts together the final running order of the songs on The Beatles’ Rubber Soul album.

1966 (Feb 18) - Brian Wilson Finishes 'Good Vibrations'

Beach Boy Brian Wilson finished recording the future classic song ‘Good Vibrations’, which went on to become the band’s third US number-one hit. As a child, his mother told him that dogs could pick up “vibrations” from people, so that the dog would bark at “bad vibrations” Wilson turned this into the general idea for the song.

1996 (Nov 16) - 'Beatles Anthology 3' #1 in Britain

The Beatles ‘Anthology 3’ went to No.1 on the UK album chart. The album included rarities and alternative tracks from the final two years of the band’s career, ranging from the initial sessions for The Beatles (also known as The White Album) to the last sessions for Let It Be and Abbey Road in later 1969 and early 1970.

1996 (Nov 16) - Another US Milestone for The Beatles

The Beatles become the first act with three #1 albums the same year in America when their Anthology 3 compilation goes to the top.

2008 (Feb 20) - Beatles' Autographed Rolling Stones Album Auctioned

A 1976 Rolling Stones album bought for £2 at a car boot sale sold for £4,000 at an auction. The ‘Black and Blue’ LP was signed by John Lennon, Yoko Ono, Paul and Linda McCartney and George Harrison as well as members of the Rolling Stones. The seller obtained the album after haggling the cost down from £3.

2010 (Nov 16) - Beatles Finally on ITunes

The Beatles back catalogue was finally made available on iTunes, after years of negotiations. For the first time consumers would now be able to purchase some of the Fab Four’s most popular songs via the store. Apple and record label EMI had been in talks for years about getting the catalogue online. Apple chief executive and Beatles fan Steve Jobs said it had “been a long and winding road to get here. We love the Beatles and are honoured and thrilled to welcome them to iTunes.”

1962 (Jun 6) - First Beatles Recordings at What Will Become 'Abbey Road'

The first Beatles recording session took place at EMI studios. The group recorded four tracks, one of which was ‘Love Me Do’ the four musicians received payments for the session of £7.10 ($12.07) each.
