1969 (Jul 1) – John and Family Involved in Car Accident

07/01/2025 @ All Day – John Lennon, Yoko Ono and family were involved in a car accident in Golspie, Scotland. Both John and Yoko needed hospital treatment. John required 17 facial stitches, Yoko 14. Lennon later had the car crushed into a cube and exhibited it on his lawn at Tittenhurst Park.

1969 (Jul 2) – Paul Records ‘Her Majesty’

07/02/2025 @ All Day – Working on tracks for the Abbey Road album, Paul McCartney recorded ‘Her Majesty’. Then Paul, George, and Ringo record 15 takes of ‘Golden Slumbers/Carry That Weight’. John Lennon was absent, in hospital in Golspie, Scotland, following a car accident the previous day.

07/02/2025 @ All Day – Liverpool Airport at Speke was renamed John Lennon Airport. Yoko Ono was present to unveil a new logo that included the late Beatle’s famous self- portrait and the words, ‘Above Us Only Sky’ taken from his ‘Imagine’ album.

2009 (Jul 4) – Allen Klein Dies

07/04/2025 @ All Day – 77-year-old Allen Klein, the former manager of The Rolling Stones and later The Beatles, died after a battle with Alzheimer’s disease. The assets of his company, ABKCO Music & Records, include recordings by The Rolling Stones, The Animals, Herman’s Hermits, Bobby Womack, The Kinks, Chubby Checker, Bobby Rydell and many others.

07/04/2025 @ All Day – The Beatles arrive at Heathrow to a throng of fans. Their tour had taken them to Lyons, Milan, Genoa, Rome, Nice, Madrid & Barcelona.
