05/13/2025 @ All Day – The world premiere of The Beatles film ‘Let It Be’ took place in New York City. The film which was originally planned as a television documentary features an unannounced rooftop concert by the group, their last performance in public. Released just after the album, it was the final original Beatles release.

05/13/2025 @ All Day – The first Beatles recording session took place at EMI studios. The group recorded four tracks, one of which was ‘Love Me Do’ the four musicians received payments for the session of £7.10 ($12.07) each.

2016 (May 14) – Tony Barrow, Former Press Officer Dies
05/14/2025 @ All Day – The Beatles’ former press officer, Tony Barrow, who coined the term ‘The Fab Four’ to describe the band, died aged 80. Barrow represented the band between 1962 and 1968 and also wrote sleeve notes for their early albums, as well as the strip cartoon for the Magical Mystery Tour booklet.
1968 (May 14) – Paul & John Appear on ‘The Tonight Show’
05/14/2025 @ All Day – John Lennon and Paul McCartney appeared on NBC-TV’s Tonight Show with guest-host Joe Garagiola sitting in for Johnny Carson. The conversation included some light hearted banter about meditation, the forming of Apple Corps. and song writing.
1963 (May 15) – Beatles Perform in Chester
05/15/2025 @ All Day – During a UK tour, The Beatles performed at the Royalty Theatre in Chester. The set list was: ‘Some Other Guy’, ‘Thank You Girl’, ‘Do You Want to Know a Secret’, ‘Please Please Me’, ‘You Really Got a Hold on Me’, ‘I Saw Her Standing There’, and ‘From Me To You’.
1969 (May 15) – John Lennon’s ‘Life With The Lions’ Released
05/15/2025 @ All Day – John Lennon’s ‘Life With The Lions’ was released on Apple’s avant-garde imprint Zapple. One side of the album was recorded on a cassette player at London’s Queen Charlotte Hospital during Yoko Ono’s pregnancy which ended in a miscarriage.
