04/29/2025 @ All Day – Lonnie Donegan, singer who launched the skiffle craze. He had a 1960 UK No.1 single with ‘My Old Man’s A Dustman’, plus over 30 other UK Top 40 singles. He died on November 3rd 2002.

04/29/2025 @ All Day – The Beatles perform at the ABC Cinema in Edinburgh. The folling day they are at the Odeon Cinema in Glasgow.
1973 (Apr 30) – ‘Red Rose Speedway’ Released in US
04/30/2025 @ All Day – The second Wings album, ‘Red Rose Speedway’ is released in America. On the back cover, spelled out in braille is the message, “We love you baby.” It is aimed at Stevie Wonder.
2019 (Apr 30) – DJ Russ Gibb Dies. Launched the ‘Paul Is Dead’ Rumor
04/30/2025 @ All Day – American concert promoter and media personality Russ Gibb died. He was best known for his role in the “Paul McCartney is dead” phenomenon, a story he broke as a disc jockey on radio station WKNR-FM in Detroit.
1962 (Jun 6) – First Beatles Recordings at What Will Become ‘Abbey Road’
04/30/2025 @ All Day – The first Beatles recording session took place at EMI studios. The group recorded four tracks, one of which was ‘Love Me Do’ the four musicians received payments for the session of £7.10 ($12.07) each.
1968 (Apr 30) – ‘The Cilla Black Show’ Debuts; Paul Writes The Theme
04/30/2025 @ All Day – BBC TV launched The Cilla Black Show making Cilla the first British female performer to have her own TV show. The theme song, ‘Step Inside Love’, was written by Paul McCartney.
1965 (Apr 30) – ‘Help!’ Filming Continues at Twickenham
