2008 (Jan 11) – Ringo Helps Launch Liverpool ‘European Capital of Culture’

01/11/2026 @ 12:00 am – Ringo Starr helped launch the celebrations for Liverpool’s year as European Capital of Culture. The opening party kicked off a year-long program of more than 350 events. Organisers hoped the ‘Capital of Culture’ tag would attract an extra two million visitors to Liverpool and boost the economy by £100m.

1964 (Jan 12) – Beatles Appear on ‘Sunday Night at the London Palladium’

01/12/2026 @ 12:00 am – They performed  ‘I Wanna Hold Your Hand’,  ‘This Boy’,  ‘All My Loving’,  ‘Money’ and  ‘Twist And Shout’.  Their fee had risen sharply.   When The Beatles appeared on this show on October 13, 1963, their fee had been £250, now, just three months later, their fee was £1,000.
