The Beatles DECCA audition tapes are made into acetates at HMV’s shop on London’s Oxford Street. That leads to the Beatles meeting Sid Coleman, head of EMI publishing. He encourages Brian Epstein to meet with George Martin.
Beatles rehearse for ‘The Ed Sullivan Show’. George is nursing a sore throat and is absent.
On their first full day in New York, The Beatles (minus George who had a sore throat), went for a photo-opportunity walk around Central Park. Over 400 girl fans followed The Beatles and extra police were called in to control them. Later in the day The Ronettes interviewed The Beatles for radio.
